Worried about my Dad in hospital :(
by Simon inwe visited angharad's parents at the weekend and got a call on sunday night from her sister who'd been called by my sister as they hadn't been able to contact us .... the message was not a happy one:.
my dad has had a heart attack and was in intensive care in hospital.. it was a while before i managed to speak to anyone over there with people probably out but i eventually spoke to his wife who says he's doing ok and has now been moved to the main ward but is being kept in as you would expect.
he may have to be moved to calgary for some investigation / tests.. he had heart surgery about 15 years ago and i think 4 of his 5 bypasses have failed so he has to take quite a bit of medicine for pain and stuff.

Simon,; hi, what a nice bloke you must be... thinking of their feelings at such a stressful time... so ,so, sorry to hear about your dad, have been in similar situation, and i'd go with them; everything else kind of pales into insignificance at times like this, it'll be fine, and nice for your dad to see a 'complete' family with him too ,maybe?? all the best and love to your familyXXXXX

Why hang on in there??
by KenUK innot been posting on this board too long, but started my ex jw internet excursion with the philia group back in 1995 (thanx alanf:-)).. not wishing to poke anybody in the eye but i'm curious at those mails i've read where some of you guys are hanging in on there (from where i sit) under the jw tag.
by that i mean you've clearly identified you've not attended meetings, have no intention of going to meetings, maybe (albeit under the jw rules)in a d/a or d/f situation, but laying low.. geniunely interested in why - i got d/f by banging on the elders door (metaphysically speaking) and sitting through a judicial to get out properly.. maybe 33 years as jw straight off (18 years under hillary step formula:-))skewed my thinking, but just curious....

I'm hoping this will work; my messages won't post lately... i'm not exactly 'hanging in there' but you have to realise that friends are friends, what ever their religious views. i'm trying to tell as many as i can. all i know, and until they turn on me i will continue to chat when i'm paid a visit.these are people, well some of them, that i truly love, i don't want to be a shit and ignore them, when the time comes and all i say sinks in i'm sure they'll run anyway ,but for now i'm just away but approachable...(unless your'e one particular basterd elder... i'll get you mate...my time will come...)

so we have the year 1998 ad finally.
but what happens if we split the 70 weeks as daniel 9.25 shows we may extend time !!!.

HOW DO YOU MEND A BROKEN CHILD'S HEART?
by termite 35 inplease, anyone broken their children's heart over the wtbts?
i've been away from meetings for quite a wwhile now and have finally had to face the fact that i am responsible for my childrens 'lost' looks lately.
i've tried to sow a few little gentle doubts to ease them into the thought that were not going to meetings as 'the org may have got some things muddled up'.but its so strange to find yourself in this position; the worst is seeing their little faces as you struggle to find the right words that won't upset them.

At last! IT WORKS AGAIN! I must go on a computer course....Hi duped and forgetmenot; thanks for replying....v.good to hear of others in similar sit. to me. i've been on holiday, back now...obviously!I know what you mean about the differences in children duped; my #1 is so happy we dont go anymore #2 is still worried she will be annihilated at any moment and misses the one friend she had there( that says something dosnt it? one friend) DOS'NT WANT TO GO TO ANYTHING 'CHURCHY' oops ,sorry... this xmas week, but cant wait for xmas, wants to worship SOMEWHERE though...#3 +#4 JUST LAID BACK AND EASY GOING...thatsa hell of a lot of sorting out, i seem to be spending all my days on so many different conversations... i may take#2 to midnight mass, it is quite anonymous in our local huge church and not like a sunday ,weve been doing a lot of charity stuff and have been buying loads for xmas for others to get in to the mindset of giving to others less fortunate, and they do seem to be focussing on giving which is making them feel good about themselves.It'll all come together in the end i'm sure... i guess im too impatient in a way ;ill just have to accept that many years can't be irradicated that quickly .Let me know how the next few weeks go love to your tribe...Forgetme not; hi,you sound a lot like my daughter!are you?!!!!!!!!i'm so glad you're happier now ,keep it that way!you are totally right...children pick up on emotions so fast,we are all so much more relaxed to the point of being comatose lately and i love it!Laid back teenagers are a special breed !
